History and Performance
The Norwegian National Quidditch team is a professional team representing Norway in international competitions. Their only mention in the original novels occurs during the aftermath of the 1994 Quidditch World Cup final. Following the appearance of the Dark Mark and the ensuing riot at the campsite, Arthur Weasley noted the chaos and confusion among the various nationalities present, stating that “the Norwegians are accusing the Transylvanians”. This implies the Norwegian team was present at the tournament and may have been eliminated by Transylvania at some earlier stage. Expanded information on the team's performance comes from coverage of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup. (Pottermore)
- In the opening round, Norway defeated the Ivory Coast in a match noted for its display of excellent sportsmanship. (Pottermore)
- They advanced to the quarter-finals, where they faced the Bulgarian National Quidditch team, led by the legendary Seeker Viktor Krum. Despite a strong performance from their star Chaser, Oda Hella, Norway was ultimately defeated 450-240 after Norwegian Seeker Lars Lundekvam was out-flown by Krum, who caught the Golden Snitch.
